Role Description The Medical Coder course role is an on-site internship position based in Tiruchirappalli. Interns will participate in structured training sessions covering medical terminology, coding guidelines, and healthcare documentation standards. Day-to-day activities include reviewing sample patient records, practicing the application of standard coding systems (such as ICD, CPT, and HCPCS), and assisting trainers with course-related tasks and learning materials. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises, assessments, and feedback sessions to build accuracy and compliance skills in medical coding. The internship is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level medical coding roles in healthcare and related industries.
Qualifications
Basic understanding of healthcare concepts, medical terminology, or a strong willingness to learn these topics.
Interest in medical coding standards and healthcare documentation, including exposure or openness to learn ICD, CPT, and HCPCS.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to follow structured guidelines and documentation processes.
Proficiency in written English and clear communication skills for interpreting and documenting clinical information.
Comfort with computer-based learning, basic office software, and online research tools.
Ability to work on-site in Tiruchirappalli, collaborate with trainers and peers, and manage time effectively during the internship.
Educational background in life sciences, allied health, IT, or any related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
