Head of procurement (Cost optimizations)

The Head of Procurement (Cost Optimizations) is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading procurement strategy to drive sustainable cost savings and supplier performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing procurement policies, analyzing spend data, and identifying opportunities to optimize costs across suppliers, contracts, and purchasing categories. This role oversees supplier selection and evaluation, negotiates contracts and pricing, and ensures alignment with business objectives, quality standards, and compliance requirements. The Head of Procurement collaborates with finance, operations, and product teams to forecast demand, manage risks, and maintain strong supplier relationships. The position also involves creating performance dashboards, reporting on savings initiatives, and implementing continuous improvement practices in procurement processes.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Supplier Management and Supplier Evaluation to build, assess, and maintain high-performing vendor relationships.
Candidates should possess expertise in Contract Negotiation to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels while managing risk and compliance.
Candidates should possess hands-on experience in Purchasing and Procurement to plan, execute, and optimize purchasing activities across categories.
Relevant experience in cost optimization, strategic sourcing, and spend analysis within a technology or services environment is beneficial.
Strong analytical, data interpretation, and financial acumen, with proficiency in using procurement or ERP tools.
Proven leadership experience, including managing cross-functional stakeholders and driving change in remote teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; advanced degrees or procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
