Role Description This full-time, on-site Design Engineer/Senior Design Engineer role is based in Vadodara. The role involves designing and developing packaging solutions, components, and systems that meet functional, safety, and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and updating CAD models and drawings, performing engineering calculations, and collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and performance. The engineer will participate in design reviews, troubleshoot design and assembly issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor. The position also includes documenting specifications, maintaining design records, and working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, cost-effective designs.
• Design and develop Packaging Machines & Special Purpose Machines (SPMs).
• Create 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D SolidWorks models.
• Develop mechanisms, assemblies, and machine components.
• Perform design calculations, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Select mechanical, pneumatic, and automation components.
• Apply DFM, Value Engineering, and cost optimization.
• Prepare BOMs, drawings, design documents, and revision records.
• Conduct design reviews, validation, risk assessment, and failure analysis.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and machine safety requirements.
• Improve machine performance, reliability, cycle time, manufacturability, and assembly efficiency.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Resolve technical issues through Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop standard designs and drive continuous machine improvement.
• Manage design activities, deliverables, and project timelines.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior / Team Lead
• Lead, mentor, and support the Design Engineering team.
• Review and approve designs, drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and documents.
• Plan, prioritize, and allocate design tasks.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with management, customers, and cross-functional teams.
• Establish design standards, workflows, and review procedures.
• Drive standardization, process improvement, and knowledge sharing.
• Conduct technical and project review meetings.
• Train and develop team members.
• Manage resources, manpower, and project schedules.
• Ensure smooth coordination between Design, Purchase, Store, Production, Assembly, Testing & QC, and Dispatch.
