Role Description The NGO Funder at Wendi is a full-time remote role responsible for securing and managing financial support for the foundation’s programs and initiatives. This role includes researching funding opportunities from foundations, institutions, and individual donors; preparing grant proposals; and coordinating timely, accurate reporting on funded projects. The NGO Funder will build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, organize virtual meetings and presentations, and collaborate with program teams to align funding strategies with organizational priorities. Daily tasks also involve tracking budgets, monitoring grant compliance, updating fundraising databases, and contributing to strategic planning for sustainable resource mobilization.
Qualifications
Strong grant writing and proposal development skills, including experience crafting clear narratives, budgets, and impact reports.
Proficiency in donor research, fundraising strategy, and relationship management with foundations, institutions, and individual donors.
Experience in project management and financial monitoring, including tracking budgets, timelines, and compliance with funding requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with diverse stakeholders, including community partners and international funders.
Familiarity with non-profit operations, particularly in education, skills development, leadership, or community-based initiatives.
Comfort working remotely, demonstrating strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and reliable time management.
Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Non-profit Management, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Prior experience in fundraising or resource mobilization for NGOs in Africa or similar contexts is an advantage.
