Role Description The Area Adviser is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting Wendi’s programs and initiatives across designated regions. This role involves providing strategic guidance to local partners, monitoring project implementation, and ensuring that activities align with Wendi’s mission and standards. The Area Adviser will coordinate with community leaders, stakeholders, and internal teams to identify needs, design practical solutions, and track progress toward development goals. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and analyzing field data, preparing reports and recommendations, facilitating virtual meetings and trainings, and sharing best practices to strengthen leadership and empowerment efforts. The role also requires active collaboration with program staff to improve outreach, enhance community engagement, and support advocacy activities.
Qualifications
Experience in community development, social work, or related fields, with strong skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
Competence in project coordination and monitoring, including planning, data collection, documentation, and reporting.
Ability to provide advisory support, conduct needs assessments, and develop practical recommendations for program improvement.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to facilitate virtual meetings, trainings, and presentations.
Knowledge of leadership development, empowerment approaches, and grassroots advocacy in a non-profit or mission-driven context.
Comfort with remote work tools and digital collaboration platforms; ability to work independently across time zones and communities.
Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, Management, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience working in or with communities in Uganda or similar contexts is an advantage.
