About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team for a short-term engagement of three months. This role is based in London with a hybrid work model, combining remote work with on-site collaboration. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating cloud design specifications into reliable, secure, and governed infrastructure within Azure. You will work closely with a small, experienced team to develop and automate infrastructure deployment processes, emphasizing Infrastructure as Code, governance, and security best practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional to contribute to a critical cloud transformation project, ensuring the deployment of scalable, compliant, and efficient cloud solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud infrastructure development, particularly within the Azure environment. Proven experience in end-to-end cloud infrastructure delivery, including design, implementation, and testing, is essential. Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or similar is required. A thorough understanding of cloud governance, policies, and role-based access control (RBAC) to ensure secure and compliant environments is necessary. Candidates should have hands-on experience provisioning and managing core Azure services, including networking, storage, key vaults, and virtual machines. Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work within a small, focused team are also important. Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Design detailed low-level architectures for the target Azure cloud environment, aligning with project requirements and best practices.
Establish and configure an Infrastructure as Code platform to facilitate automated landing zone deployments, ensuring repeatability and consistency.
Create management groups, subscriptions, resource groups, and enforce Azure policies to maintain governance and compliance standards.
Implement and manage RBAC to control access securely across cloud resources.
Build, configure, and test network components, including load balancers, virtual networks, and security groups.
Provision and manage core Azure services such as storage accounts, key vaults, and file servers to support application and data needs.
Set up backup solutions and monitoring services to ensure high availability, security, and operational efficiency.
Provision virtual machines for various workloads, including application servers, middleware, and databases, with appropriate security controls.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues, optimize infrastructure, and implement best practices for cloud deployment.
