Role Description
The MERN Stack Developer Intern (Unpaid) will support the design, development, and maintenance of web applications across Small Fare’s portfolio of digital brands. This remote internship role involves working with mentors and team members to build features using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js, implementing APIs, and integrating front-end and back-end components. Day-to-day tasks may include writing clean and reusable code, debugging and troubleshooting issues, collaborating on UI/UX improvements, and participating in code reviews and sprint meetings. The intern will also assist with testing, documentation, and deployment processes while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, product-focused environment. This is an internship role intended for learning and skill development, with flexible collaboration across different projects.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess foundational skills in JavaScript, React, and modern front-end development (HTML, CSS).
Candidates should possess skills in Node.js and Express.js for building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
Candidates should possess skills in MongoDB or other NoSQL databases for data modeling and integration.
Candidates should possess skills in version control tools such as Git and GitHub for collaborative development.
Candidates should possess skills in basic debugging, testing, and troubleshooting web applications.
Relevant coursework or projects in full-stack or MERN development, computer science, or related fields are beneficial.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a remote, startup-like environment are beneficial.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and in distributed teams are beneficial.
