Role Description The Ukrainian Interpreter is a full-time, remote role responsible for providing accurate, real-time interpretation between Ukrainian and English during virtual calls and meetings. Day-to-day tasks include facilitating communication for clients across medical, legal, and business contexts, ensuring confidentiality, and adhering to professional and ethical standards. The interpreter listens carefully to speakers, conveys meaning and tone faithfully, and clarifies terminology when needed to support mutual understanding. The role also involves preparing for assignments by reviewing relevant materials, staying current with language and industry terminology, and collaborating with team members and supervisors to provide consistent, high-quality service.
Qualifications
Strong language skills in Ukrainian and English, including excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension abilities for consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation.
Demonstrated ability to interpret in professional settings such as medical, legal, or business environments, with familiarity with related terminology and confidentiality requirements.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including clear diction, professional phone etiquette, and the ability to remain neutral and unbiased.
Technical proficiency with remote work tools, such as call center platforms, video-conferencing software, and reliable use of headsets, computers, and stable internet connections.
Strong concentration, attention to detail, and time management skills to handle multiple calls and tasks in a fast-paced, virtual call center environment.
Previous experience as an interpreter, translator, or in language services is highly beneficial; experience in medical or legal interpretation is a plus.
Relevant education such as coursework or a degree in linguistics, translation, interpretation, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
Availability to work full-time scheduled shifts, with flexibility for different time zones if required, and commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
