Hiring: Lead AOSP Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead AOSP Engineer to join our team and drive Android platform integration and development. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AOSP architecture, version migration, BSP/kernel integration, and Android framework customization, with the ability to work across the full Android stack—from bootloader, kernel, and device tree through HAL, native services, and framework layers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead AOSP architecture, build, and platform development, including Soong, Android.bp, Make/Android.mk, and Ninja
Analyze compatibility requirements and manage AOSP migration and product configuration across framework, vendor, HAL, kernel, and application layers
Lead SoC/BSP integration and Android device bring-up, including Device Tree/DTB
Oversee integration and troubleshooting of Android HALs and vendor interfaces, with expertise in AIDL HALs, legacy HIDL concepts, and VINTF
Drive Android networking and connectivity enhancements at the platform level
Debug kernel, driver, and connectivity issues, including analysis of ANRs and race conditions across kernel, native, Binder, and framework layers
Optimize system performance across CPU, power, I/O, memory, network, and startup
Ensure security, validation, and production readiness through SELinux/SEPolicy and AVB implementation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
5–8 years of experience in Embedded Linux or Android platform development, including kernel driver development
Proven experience with Android AOSP build systems and SoC/BSP bring-up
Demonstrated expertise in Android version upgrades and migrations
Extensive experience with embedded systems and SoC-based products
Strong knowledge of kernel internals, device tree structures, and driver development
Solid working knowledge of networking concepts within the Android ecosystem
Experience in performance analysis and optimization
Hands-on experience with CTS/VTS/GTS readiness and release qualification processes
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production release cycles
Proficiency with debugging and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, perf, and kernel tracing utilities
Strong analytical and debugging skills across a broad range of tools and methodologies
Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration between Android, BSP, kernel, hardware, networking, QA, and release teams
