Designation: Training Officer
Reporting To: Head – Training & Placement
Location: Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur
Employment Type: Full-Time
1. Job Purpose
The Training Officer will be responsible for ensuring that students are systematically trained, assessed and made placement-ready through structured employability, aptitude, communication, domain and interview-preparation interventions.
The role will focus on developing a measurable Student Placement Readiness Framework, identifying skill gaps, conducting targeted training, monitoring student progress and ensuring that eligible students are adequately prepared to participate confidently in recruitment processes.
2. Key Result Areas (KRAs)
A. Student Placement Readiness
Develop and implement a structured placement-readiness framework for students.
Conduct baseline and periodic assessments of students.
Assess students on aptitude, reasoning, communication, technical/domain knowledge, GD and interview skills.
Maintain a student-wise Placement Readiness Score/Index.
Ensure 100% assessment coverage of eligible students.
B. Employability Skills Training
Plan and conduct training programmes on:
Quantitative Aptitude
Logical Reasoning
Verbal Ability
English Communication
Business Communication
Group Discussion
Personal Interview
Resume Writing
LinkedIn/Profile Building
Workplace Etiquette and Professional Behaviour
Ensure structured training calendars are prepared well in advance.
Coordinate with internal faculty and external trainers wherever required.
C. Domain & Technical Readiness
Identify domain-specific skill requirements based on recruiter Job Descriptions and industry requirements.
Coordinate with Schools/Departments and faculty for domain-specific preparation.
Develop sector-specific preparation modules for Finance, Marketing, HR, Operations, IT, BFSI and other relevant sectors.
Ensure students understand the technical and functional expectations of target roles.
D. Mock Recruitment & Assessment
Conduct regular mock aptitude tests, GDs, personal interviews and assessment-centre exercises.
Organise mock placement drives simulating actual recruitment processes.
Analyse student performance and identify individual gaps.
Provide feedback and corrective action plans to students.
E. Student Skill Gap & Remedial Programme
Identify students who are below the prescribed placement-readiness benchmark.
Create remedial and additional training interventions.
Maintain a list of students requiring special intervention.
Monitor improvement through periodic reassessment.
F. Resume & Professional Profile Readiness
Ensure every eligible student has a professionally prepared and verified resume.
Facilitate LinkedIn/profile development.
Conduct resume review and interview-profile sessions.
Ensure students are prepared according to specific recruiter/job requirements.
G. Industry & Recruiter Alignment
Study recruiter JDs and identify recurring skill requirements.
Incorporate recruiter feedback into student training programmes.
Maintain an Industry Skill Requirement Repository.
Recommend changes in training modules based on placement trends and recruiter feedback.
H. Student Participation & Engagement
Ensure students attend mandatory placement training programmes.
Track attendance and participation.
Counsel students regarding the importance of employability preparation.
Coordinate with Programme Heads/Faculty for students with low participation.
I. Placement Readiness Certification
Establish defined criteria for declaring a student “Placement Ready.”
Conduct final readiness assessments before major placement drives.
Maintain student-wise readiness status.
Ensure only adequately prepared students are recommended for relevant recruitment opportunities, wherever applicable.
J. Data, MIS & Reporting
Maintain a comprehensive Placement Training Database.
Prepare monthly reports covering:
Number of students trained
Training hours
Attendance
Assessment scores
Skill gaps
Mock interview performance
Placement readiness status
Students requiring intervention
Submit the monthly Training & Placement Readiness Dashboard by the 5th of every month.
Maintain proper documentation for accreditation and institutional reporting.

4. Key Responsibilities
Own the Student Placement Readiness Process from assessment to final certification.
Develop an annual and semester-wise training calendar.
Coordinate with faculty, external trainers, industry professionals and placement teams.
Maintain student-wise readiness dashboards.
Identify high-risk students requiring intervention.
Ensure training is practical, industry-oriented and outcome-driven.
Introduce technology-enabled assessments and employability tools.
Explore AI-based tools for resume building, mock interviews, communication assessment and personalised learning.
Maintain records required for NAAC/NBA/AACSB and other institutional requirements.
Support the T&P Cell during recruitment drives whenever student training/readiness support is required.

6. Qualifications
Essential:
Postgraduate degree in Management, Business Administration, HR, Education, Psychology, English, or a relevant discipline.
Strong knowledge of employability and student development practices.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace and digital learning tools.
Desirable:
Experience in a higher-education institution, Training & Placement Cell, corporate L&D, employability training or recruitment.
Experience in conducting aptitude, GD and interview preparation.
Knowledge of assessment platforms and AI-enabled employability tools.
Industry exposure in recruitment or talent development.

9. Role Boundary
Training Officer: Student readiness, employability training, assessment, skill-gap remediation and preparation.
Placement Team: Employer engagement, recruiter acquisition, job opportunities, placement drives and placement conversion.
The Training Officer shall work closely with the Placement Team to ensure that students are prepared before they enter the recruitment pipeline.
