About the Role
Arbor Energy is seeking an experienced Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead the company's investment strategy, capital allocation, financing initiatives, and evaluation of strategic growth opportunities.
As a member of the executive leadership team, the CIO will be responsible for developing disciplined investment frameworks, evaluating capital-intensive opportunities, supporting financing strategies, and aligning investment decisions with the company's long-term objectives.
The ideal candidate combines institutional investment expertise, strong financial judgment, and executive leadership with experience across energy, infrastructure, industrial technology, or other capital-intensive markets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company's investment strategy and capital allocation framework.
Identify and evaluate strategic investment and growth opportunities across energy, infrastructure, and related markets.
Lead financial modeling, valuation, investment underwriting, due diligence, and transaction analysis.
Evaluate project investments, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and corporate development opportunities.
Develop investment recommendations based on project economics, market fundamentals, risk, and long-term strategic value.
Analyze financing structures, capital requirements, expected returns, and investment risks.
Support project financing, capital raising, and other strategic financing initiatives.
Collaborate with executive leadership, finance, engineering, operations, strategy, business development, and legal teams.
Build relationships with institutional investors, lenders, financial institutions, and strategic capital partners.
Establish investment governance, portfolio monitoring, and performance measurement frameworks.
Monitor energy markets, capital markets, technology developments, and emerging investment opportunities.
Present investment recommendations, capital allocation priorities, and portfolio reviews to executive leadership.
Qualifications
12+ years of experience in investment management, infrastructure investing, private equity, project finance, investment banking, corporate development, or related fields.
Significant senior leadership experience overseeing investments, transactions, financing, or capital allocation.
Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, investment underwriting, and transaction structuring.
Experience evaluating energy, infrastructure, industrial technology, or other capital-intensive investments.
Strong understanding of project finance, capital markets, financing structures, and investment risk.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex investment opportunities and execute disciplined capital strategies.
Experience working with institutional investors, lenders, strategic partners, and executive stakeholders.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and executive leadership skills.
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, accounting, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or advanced degree preferred.
