Strategic Advisor, Enterprise Finance
Deepgrids · Advisory Board · Remote
Every large company has rules for how it sells.
How much a rep can discount. Who can approve an exception. Which contract terms are acceptable. When revenue can be recognized. What billing has to match.
The problem is that a single sale moves across CRM, contracts, ERP, billing, approvals, and people. Each system holds one piece of the transaction. Nothing consistently checks whether the commercial decision made across all of them actually followed the company's rules.
Finance is often left reconstructing that answer after the fact.
Deepgrids is building the control layer for this.
We connect the systems a sale moves through and create one record of what was quoted, approved, signed, booked, and billed. Deepgrids checks every sale against the company's commercial and financial rules, continuously, with every answer tied back to the underlying record.
But checking is only the beginning.
Over time, Deepgrids can connect exceptions to outcomes and answer a harder question: not only did we follow the rule, but was the rule any good?
Did giving 25% off in exchange for a three-year commitment create value? Which non-standard terms consistently lead to billing disputes? Which approval exceptions should become policy, and which should stop?
That creates a path from checking the rules → learning from decisions → improving commercial policy → eventually running those rules at the point of decision.
We think this becomes increasingly important as AI agents begin drafting quotes, recommending discounts, and eventually making commercial decisions at machine speed. The control infrastructure underneath those decisions cannot depend on another model guessing whether they're acceptable.
As we build toward that, we're adding one senior finance executive to our advisory board.
We're looking for a current or former CFO, divisional CFO, or SVP Finance who has operated inside a complex B2B technology business and understands firsthand the intersection of finance and commercial execution: pricing and discount discipline, approval governance, margin protection, revenue controls, auditability, and the realities of quarter-end.
This person will work directly with the founding team to challenge our product and strategy from the Office of the CFO's perspective. We want someone who can help us understand where this becomes mission-critical, where our assumptions are wrong, and what would have to be true for an enterprise finance organization to trust Deepgrids as part of its control environment.
This is not a fractional CFO role. We aren't looking for someone to run our FP&A, fundraising, or internal finance function. We're looking for someone who has lived the problem we're building around.
Deepgrids is pre-seed, with $235K raised from strategic angels, and we're beginning work with enterprise design partners. Our advisory network includes former senior operators from Google Cloud, AWS, Palo Alto Networks, Accenture, and other enterprise technology companies.
The engagement is approximately two hours per month over 24 months, with equity compensation appropriate to the seniority of the role.
We're keeping this to one seat.
