About The Role
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst at McKesson is a highly visible, hands-on individual contributor responsible for building and scaling the analytics, reporting, and value-realization measurement capabilities within the AIM28 transformation program. Reporting directly to the AIM28 Finance Lead, this role involves designing and owning end-to-end data models, ETL pipelines, dashboards, and automation solutions that convert complex, fragmented data into trusted insights for executives and program leaders. The role also entails supporting strategic projects across the organization, ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable, and AI-enabled analytics solutions that drive decision-making and business outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in SQL, data modeling, BI visualization, automation, and AI-enabled analytics with strong business and financial acumen. Operating as the sole analytics builder within the AIM28 Finance team, this individual will establish the program’s single source of truth for KPIs, benefit tracking, investments, and value realization reporting. Additionally, they will spearhead initiatives to promote self-service analytics, automate reporting workflows, and integrate AI capabilities such as automated narratives and conversational agents, enabling stakeholders to access insights swiftly and independently.
This role involves architecting an AI-ready analytics and reporting framework that pairs traditional dashboards with advanced AI features. The incumbent will be responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful insights, designing scalable data pipelines, and integrating scattered reporting artifacts into cohesive, standardized solutions. As a standalone technical expert embedded within Finance, the role requires end-to-end ownership—from requirements gathering and solution design to build, testing, and user adoption—without the support of a dedicated BI or data engineering team.
Qualifications

Comfort with ambiguity, imperfect data, and shifting requirements, with a focus on turning these challenges into actionable insights.
Strong business acumen and financial literacy, including experience working with finance or FP&A teams, understanding ROI, forecasting, variance analysis, and business-case logic.
Ability to operate independently as a technical individual contributor, owning all aspects of analytics development and maintenance.
Track record of developing and monitoring KPIs that influence business decisions, along with building automated reporting systems to replace manual processes.
Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting analytical results to senior leadership both verbally and in writing.
Strong ownership and judgment, with the ability to validate outputs, make pragmatic trade-offs, and build trust through accuracy and reliability.
Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and meet deadlines.
Curiosity and interest in applying AI, GenAI, and conversational agents to enhance reporting and insights delivery.
Expertise in SQL, including complex query development, window functions, and performance tuning on large datasets.
Proficiency in data modeling, design, and creating semantic models for dashboards and AI consumption.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain program-level and Big Bet dashboards that serve as the single source of truth for KPIs, benefits, investments, milestones, and value realization.
Create executive-facing reports for leadership meetings, translating complex data into actionable insights.
Automate recurring benefit and program reporting processes, establishing scheduled data flows, validation, and monitoring mechanisms.
Identify opportunities for automation, including AI-powered narratives and summaries that surface insights proactively.
Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and clean data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Integrate data from various sources—including raw operational data, manual files, and self-service dashboards—into harmonized, consumable datasets and models.
Establish business logic for transforming raw data into trusted, certified reports, documenting lineage, definitions, and processes for auditability.
Develop semantic models and curated datasets to support dashboards, self-service analytics, and AI applications.
Partner with finance and program teams to codify KPI definitions and benefit methodologies into governed data models, ensuring measurement consistency.
Conduct deep-dive analyses on KPI movements, benefit variances, and program performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Respond to ad hoc analytical requests, triangulating data sources to validate findings and ensure data fidelity.
Enable and promote governed self-service analytics, reducing ad hoc requests and empowering stakeholders.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, prioritize automation and reporting backlog, and set standards for analytics practices across teams.
