Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Biomedical Engineer role based in Amberpet. The Biomedical Engineer will oversee installation, calibration and maintenance of medical equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation in clinical settings. Responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating repairs with vendors and maintaining accurate service documentation. The role involves supporting clinical teams in the appropriate use of biomedical devices, participating in equipment evaluation and commissioning, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards. The Biomedical Engineer will collaborate closely with hospital administration, clinicians and technical staff to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles in healthcare environments.
Hands-on experience with Medical Equipment, including installation, calibration, testing and performance validation.
Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair coordination and lifecycle management.
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
Knowledge of hospital safety standards, regulatory requirements and quality assurance practices for medical devices.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clinicians, technicians and vendors in a multidisciplinary setting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on patient safety and reliability.
Prior experience in a hospital or clinical engineering department is preferred; familiarity with digital systems and asset management tools is an advantage.
