Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and commercially focused Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to lead the company's global Revenue organization and drive sustainable revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, expansion, and overall commercial performance.
The CRO will develop and execute an integrated revenue strategy across Sales, Business Development, Revenue Operations, Account Management, Customer Growth, Go-to-Market, Sales Operations, Revenue Planning, and Commercial Analytics.
This executive will work closely with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership to accelerate revenue growth, expand market presence, strengthen customer relationships, and build a scalable, high-performing revenue organization.
Key Responsibilities1. Revenue Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the company's global revenue strategy.
Align revenue priorities with corporate growth and business objectives.
Establish annual and long-term revenue plans, targets, and investment priorities.
Identify new revenue opportunities and strategic growth initiatives.
Provide strategic revenue guidance to executive leadership.
2. Sales & Revenue Growth
Lead global Sales and revenue-generating organizations.
Develop strategies to accelerate customer acquisition and revenue growth.
Establish sales targets, performance standards, and growth objectives.
Drive enterprise, strategic, and commercial sales initiatives.
Improve sales productivity, conversion rates, and revenue performance.
3. Go-to-Market & Market Expansion
Develop and execute global Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies.
Identify new markets, customer segments, and growth opportunities.
Develop market-entry and expansion strategies.
Partner with Marketing and Product to strengthen market positioning.
Monitor market trends and competitive developments to identify revenue opportunities.
4. Revenue Operations & Forecasting
Oversee Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, and revenue planning.
Establish accurate revenue forecasting and pipeline management processes.
Develop territory, quota, capacity, and sales planning frameworks.
Establish revenue dashboards and performance reporting.
Improve forecasting accuracy, pipeline visibility, and revenue predictability.
5. Customer Growth & Account Expansion
Develop strategies to increase customer retention and account expansion.
Strengthen relationships with strategic and enterprise customers.
Identify upselling, cross-selling, and expansion opportunities.
Partner with Customer Success to maximize customer lifetime value.
Establish account growth strategies for key customer segments.
6. Commercial Performance & Analytics
Establish revenue KPIs and performance management frameworks.
Monitor revenue growth, pipeline, conversion, retention, expansion, and profitability.
Use data and analytics to optimize commercial decisions.
Evaluate pricing, sales productivity, customer acquisition costs, and revenue efficiency.
Present revenue performance and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
7. Cross-Functional Executive Leadership
Partner with Marketing on demand generation, brand positioning, and customer acquisition.
Collaborate with Product on customer needs, product strategy, and commercialization.
Work with Customer Success on retention and account expansion.
Partner with Finance on revenue planning, forecasting, budgets, and profitability.
Align Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Operations around revenue objectives.
8. Team Leadership & Organizational Development
Build and lead a high-performing global Revenue organization.
Recruit, mentor, and develop senior sales and commercial leaders.
Establish sales and revenue career paths, performance frameworks, and succession plans.
Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and performance.
Develop future revenue leaders and strengthen organizational capabilities.
QualificationsEducation
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
MBA or Master's degree preferred.
Experience
20+ years of progressive experience in Sales, Revenue, Business Development, Commercial Operations, or related functions.
10+ years of senior executive leadership experience in revenue-generating organizations.
Proven experience leading global or multi-regional sales and revenue organizations.
Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion.
Strong experience with enterprise sales, strategic accounts, complex negotiations, and commercial strategy.
Experience with revenue forecasting, pipeline management, GTM strategy, and commercial analytics.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders.
