About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to join our team either in San Francisco or remotely for candidates on the East Coast. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network architectures across diverse environments including cloud, on-premise, and edge/IoT. Your expertise will be essential in safeguarding our infrastructure, monitoring security operations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices into our systems and help defend against evolving cyber threats. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge security solutions in a fast-paced, innovative company dedicated to transforming logistics through technology.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in network security, cybersecurity engineering, or infrastructure security roles
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and switching
Hands-on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools
Experience securing cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, Security+, GSEC, or equivalent (preferred)
Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST (preferred)
Strong incident response, threat detection, and security troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities
Design and implement secure network architectures across cloud, on-premise, and edge/IoT environments
Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, NAC, and secure remote access solutions
Evaluate and deploy new security technologies and controls to enhance infrastructure security
Monitor network activity and security alerts, investigating suspicious activity and potential breaches
Lead containment, remediation, and post-incident reviews to mitigate security risks
Oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security reviews to identify and address security gaps
Prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities, maintaining security hardening standards and best practices
Secure cloud infrastructure, network connectivity, and identity/access controls in collaboration with infrastructure teams
Implement zero-touch provisioning and secure identity management for edge hardware to ensure fleet integrity
Architect secure, low-latency remote access and mesh VPN solutions for fleet communication and maintenance
Support compliance initiatives such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST, developing security policies and documentation
Provide security guidance and training to internal teams to foster a security-aware culture
