Vice President of Business Development
Position overview
The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for formulating and executing the company's business development strategy and identifying new market opportunities, customer opportunities, strategic cooperation opportunities and revenue growth channels.
This position drives the company's revenue growth, market expansion and long-term business value creation through market development, strategic cooperation, customer development, channel building, commercial negotiations and new business opportunity evaluation.
Main responsibilities
1. Business Development Strategy
Develop and execute the company's overall business development strategy and annual business plan.
Determine key markets, customers and business directions based on the company's strategic goals.
Analyze industry trends, market needs and competitive landscape.
Establish mid- to long-term business growth and market expansion plans.
2. New business development
Identify new product, service, market and business model opportunities.
Assess the market size, commercial value and implementation feasibility of potential business opportunities.
Promote new business from opportunity identification to commercial implementation.
Establish an ongoing business opportunity pipeline (Business Pipeline).
3. Market expansion
Develop entry strategies for new markets and geographies.
Identify potential customers, partners and sales channels.
Drive the company into new industries, geographies or customer segments.
Analyze market performance and continuously adjust business development strategies.
4. Strategic partnerships
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key partners.
Look for strategic alliances, channel cooperation, technical cooperation and business cooperation opportunities.
Responsible for business negotiations and agreement promotion of important cooperation projects.
Work with partners to develop market expansion and business growth plans.
5. Customer development and relationship management
Responsible for business development of key customers and potential strategic customers.
Establish high-level customer relationships and long-term cooperation mechanisms.
Understand customer needs and propose targeted business solutions.
Drive important customers from initial contact to contract signing and long-term cooperation.
6. Business Negotiation
Lead negotiations on major customers, partners and commercial projects.

Complete contract reviews with legal, finance, sales and operations teams.
Manage the risks and commercial value of major business collaborations.
7. Revenue growth
Work with sales and marketing teams to drive revenue growth.
Build and manage business development pipeline and sales opportunities.
Analyze business pipeline, customer conversion rates, and revenue forecasts.
Drive the development of high-value customers and long-term commercial contracts.
8. Market and competition analysis
Continuously research industry development trends and competitor dynamics.
Analyze customer needs, market size and potential growth areas.
Establish competitive intelligence and business market analysis mechanisms.
Provide business insights into product, marketing, sales and corporate strategy.
9. Mergers, Acquisitions and Strategic Investments
Identify potential mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments and business partnership opportunities.
Conduct preliminary commercial and financial analysis of target businesses and commercial projects.
Collaborate with finance, legal and management teams to conduct due diligence.
Support the negotiation, execution and subsequent integration of major transactions.
10. Cross-departmental collaboration
Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, finance, legal, operations and technology teams.
Ensure that business development opportunities can be smoothly converted into actual business.
Coordinate internal resources to support major customers and strategic cooperation projects.
Promote the implementation of cross-department commercial projects.
11. Business Development Team Leader
Lead business development, strategic cooperation and market expansion teams.
Establish team goals, performance metrics, and business processes.
Cultivate business development and strategic cooperation talents.
Establish a high-quality business opportunity management system.
12. Senior management and strategic reporting
Report business development to CEO, President or Board of Directors.
Regularly report on business pipeline, market opportunities, partners and revenue forecasts.
Provide market and business analysis for the company's major business decisions.
Participate in the company's long-term strategic planning and major business project decisions.
Job requirements
Bachelor degree or above in business management, marketing, finance, economics, engineering or related majors.
Have extensive experience in business development, strategic cooperation, sales or commercial management.
Experience developing new markets, new customers and strategic partners.
Familiar with commercial negotiations, contract management and business opportunity evaluation.
Have strong market analysis, business analysis and strategic planning capabilities.
Possess excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
Able to communicate at a high level with CEO, corporate executives and important customers.
Have experience in cross-department and cross-regional team management.
An MBA or relevant senior management qualification may be considered a plus.
