Role Description The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for overseeing the engineering organization and driving technology strategy to support ORIX Life Insurance’s business goals. This position leads and mentors engineering teams, sets technical standards, and ensures the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with product, operations, and business stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with company priorities, managing project portfolios, and optimizing processes for efficiency and reliability. The Vice President of Engineering will guide product development roadmaps, champion best practices in software development, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning across the engineering function.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management skills, including organizational planning, resource allocation, and performance management.
Proven Team Leadership capabilities, with experience building, mentoring, and empowering diverse, distributed engineering teams.
Hands-on background in Software Development, with knowledge of modern architectures, cloud technologies, and secure development practices.
Demonstrated Project Management skills to oversee complex, cross-functional initiatives and deliver on time and within scope.
Experience in Product Development, partnering with product and business stakeholders to translate strategy into technical roadmaps.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align teams around shared objectives.
Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a focus on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.
Prior leadership experience in insurance, financial services, or a similarly regulated industry is beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent leadership experience is an advantage.
