1. About Our Client:
The organization operates within the healthcare support sector, focusing on patient assistance programs designed to help individuals access coverage for prescribed medications. It addresses challenges related to medication accessibility and insurance coverage by facilitating patient enrollment and communication with healthcare providers.
2. About the Opportunity:
The Pharmacy Patient Advocate plays a critical role in supporting patients through the enrollment process for patient assistance programs. This position ensures patients receive timely access to medication coverage by managing communications and administrative processes that facilitate program participation.
3. Responsibilities:
Review and process patient enrollment forms for the Patient Assistance Program (PAP)
Assist patients by verifying pre-screening and qualification tasks for PAP enrollment
Inform patients and healthcare providers about application approvals, denials, and next steps
Schedule medication treatments to be sent to patients or providers
Manage inbound and outbound phone support for the PAP
Communicate daily with patients and authorized representatives about eligibility and status
Request supplementary information from patients or representatives as needed
Prioritize workload to meet processing timelines
Explain PAP details to patients, representatives, providers, and office staff
Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, advocates, and caregivers
Report adverse events and product complaints per standard procedures
Perform daily operations specific to assigned programs
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
4. Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of customer service or customer-focused work experience
One year of call center experience
Knowledge of insurance and benefits investigations, including U.S. private and government payers
Proven ability to deliver consistent high-quality service
Preferred:
Associate degree or technical training in a related field
Two years’ experience in pharmacy, managed care, Medicaid/Medicare, pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing, insurance, or related fields
Experience with HIPAA and patient services
Bilingual in English and Spanish

Basic math and logical problem-solving
Effective stakeholder communication
Comfort interacting with diverse populations

Sensitivity and passion for patient interaction
Physical Requirements:
Work performed 100% indoors
Extensive manual dexterity for keyboarding, mouse, and phone use
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The expected base pay range for this position is $19 to $24 per hour, varying based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
