District Manager - Appalachia Region (OH, PA, WV, NY)

1. About Our Client:
This organization operates in the retail sector, focusing on grocery store management. It addresses challenges in store operations by providing structured leadership and support to store management teams to enhance performance, customer experience, and employee engagement across multiple locations.
2. About the Opportunity:
The District Manager is responsible for leading and supporting Store Managers to meet and exceed operational and financial goals. This role ensures optimal staffing, training, and adherence to company policies, directly impacting store performance, employee development, and customer satisfaction in the assigned region.
3. Responsibilities:
Ensure stores operate according to company standards to maximize profits, customer experience, and key performance indicators
Meet and exceed targets such as sales, shrink, and labor budgets, managing expenses accordingly
Support and guide Store Managers through regular visits and strategic direction
Collaborate with Store Managers on hiring, onboarding, training, and development of store teams
Foster open communication and a positive work environment among store staff
Implement and enforce programs and best practices to improve operational efficiency
Monitor activities to achieve desired operating results
Ensure compliance with company policies including cash handling and inventory control
Prepare and analyze reports and company-required documentation
Review store documentation for accuracy and timeliness
Develop individual growth plans for store managers
Create corrective action plans to improve performance when needed
Ensure compliance with all applicable City, State, and Federal regulations
Perform other duties as assigned
4. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred five years of management experience
Bilingual skills and multi-unit management experience are advantageous
Experience with in-store merchandising is a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects and strong leadership skills
Results-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to interact with senior management and external resources
Strong critical thinking and independent learning abilities
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
