About The Role
We are seeking experienced Software Development Engineers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and enhancing software applications and systems that support Visa’s mission to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality payment solutions. Your primary focus will be on creating innovative mobile applications, SDKs, and platform capabilities that enable secure authentication, digital identity management, fraud prevention, and customer engagement across Android and iOS platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, designers, QA engineers, operations, and compliance partners to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable solutions used by millions of users worldwide.
This position emphasizes hands-on coding, with approximately 60-75% of your time dedicated to development activities. You will leverage modern tools such as AI-assisted development platforms, cloud services, automation frameworks, and mobile technologies to improve software quality and engineering productivity. Additionally, candidates with experience in mobile platform engineering, SDK development, and release automation will find this role particularly aligned with their expertise. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications include a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 2 years with an advanced degree such as a Master’s, MBA, JD, or MD, or 8+ years of work experience in software engineering or related fields. Candidates should have proven experience developing and supporting native mobile applications on Android and/or iOS platforms. Preferred qualifications include 6+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years with an advanced degree, along with demonstrated leadership in technical initiatives, mentoring, and driving engineering best practices. Experience in designing scalable software solutions, creating test strategies, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating across cross-functional teams is highly valued. Knowledge of mobile deployment tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Fastlane, Bitrise, CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager, Google Play Console, and App Store Connect is advantageous. Domain experience in Payments, FinTech, Digital Identity, Authentication, Fraud Prevention, or Cybersecurity is also preferred. Candidates familiar with leveraging Generative AI tools to enhance software delivery will be considered a strong fit.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of software engineering tasks, including collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, translating functional needs into system designs, and developing high-quality, maintainable code. You will lead the design and implementation of product components, participate in design reviews, and contribute to project planning, estimation, and risk management. Ensuring adherence to security standards, coding best practices, and engineering guidelines is vital, as is conducting thorough code reviews and developing comprehensive testing strategies.
In the mobile engineering domain, you will design, develop, test, and support native Android and iOS applications, focusing on performance optimization, responsiveness, and energy efficiency. You will work closely with backend, platform, and security teams to deliver secure, resilient mobile experiences. For those with expertise in SDK development and release automation, responsibilities include designing scalable SDKs, maintaining developer-facing APIs, managing release cycles, and automating CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes. Continuous improvement initiatives, operational monitoring, incident response, and proactive troubleshooting are integral to maintaining high product quality and customer satisfaction.
