2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Software Engineer, Fraud will develop advanced fraud detection and prevention products, focusing on device fingerprinting to identify and mitigate sophisticated abuse and fraud threats. This role is critical in protecting customers by evolving detection techniques and integrating these capabilities at scale. The position offers a high-ownership environment with a startup-like pace within a larger organization, contributing directly to the security and trustworthiness of the company’s identity and fraud prevention offerings.
3. Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain fraud detection features on the fraud platform, focusing on browser and device internals to identify malicious actors.
Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define direction and translate customer needs into technical solutions.
Work cross-functionally to align architecture and integrate platform capabilities.
Take full technical ownership by authoring design documentation, making key technical decisions, and reviewing code.
Navigate ambiguous problems, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and adopt new technologies to improve outcomes.
Enhance production quality and resilience through observability and incident response.
Mentor and support engineering team members to elevate technical standards and culture.
4. Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of experience designing, building, and operating production systems.
Expertise in C or C++; production experience preferred.
Experience with production-grade codebases in modern programming languages and commitment to high-quality coding standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work non-standard hours including on-call rotations during weekends and holidays.
Desired: familiarity with Javascript, Go, WebAssembly; experience in reverse engineering or fraud detection; security software engineering experience; passion for building and hands-on development.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington D.C.: $138,700 - $173,400.
Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside San Francisco Bay area): $146,800 - $183,600.
Based in San Francisco Bay area, California: $163,100 - $203,900.
Eligibility for equity plan and corporate bonus plan.
