Year 1 OTE: c$200,000
Location: Remote from San Francisco Bay Area, CA, USA
Hawkwood is a specialist recruitment consultancy focused exclusively on helping technology companies hire exceptional Internal Recruiting talent (R4R), as well as broader People hires (HR). Our clients range from VC-backed scale-ups to post-IPO tech multinationals, and we work on a fully exclusive basis - meaning we run every search as a true partner, not a vendor competing against other recruiting consultancies
We've placed Internal Recruiters into some of the most recognisable names in tech, including Google DeepMind, Palantir, Isomorphic Labs, Figma, and Reflection, as well as world-leading algorithmic trading firms, and start-ups backed by tier one VC's such as Sequoia Capital and Index Ventures.
Our US team operates fully remotely. We're a team of 12 in total - four in the US, eight in the UK - and we're growing.
The role
This is a client-facing, full-lifecycle recruitment role. You'll act as a trusted adviser to hiring leaders at technology companies, helping them shape the role brief, understand the market, and make great hires into their internal recruiting functions.
The roles you'll be filling span the full spectrum of TA - from recruiters supporting software engineering, research science teams to those hiring product, sales, and operations talent.
Day-to-day, you'll be:
Scoping searches with clients and advising on role design, market dynamics, and compensation benchmarking
Helping clients design and structure their interview processesSourcing candidates through a combination of outbound outreach and our existing network and community relationships
Keeping clients informed throughout via regular calls and detailed pipeline reports
Attending and hosting events, and actively building your own personal brand within the talent and tech community
Nurturing relationships that develop into new client partnerships over time
Our searches are fully exclusive, meaning you can operate in a true partnership approach with your clients.
Who we're looking for
You'll have at least four years of recruitment experience, whether from a consultancy or an in-house Talent Acquisition team. Exposure to the technology sector is strongly prefered, but you don't need a background in recruiting-for-recruiters specifically - we'll give you the context and support to get up to speed quickly.
Beyond experience, we're looking for someone who:
Communicates with clarity and builds genuine relationships
Is effective at finding creative solutions to problems and being proactive at deploying them
Is genuinely excited about the technology ecosystem and the role recruiting plays within high-growth scale-ups
Takes pride in the quality of their work and in how clients feel about working with them
Is a strong team player - collaborative, generous with their thinking, and invested in the collective
Excited at the prospect of playing an active role in shaping our company (and, in particular, our relatively new US team)
Is capable of working at pace and taking ownership as part of a high-performing team
What we offer:
Competitive remuneration including uncapped commission
Private health insurance subsidy
28 days of PTO plus public holidays
401k
Remote working, including working from anywhere within a three-hour time difference of Pacific time.
Access to our share option scheme
Apple Mac laptop
