About The Role
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database Administrator to join our team in Key West, FL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex database systems that are critical to supporting national security and various government operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability, scalable, and secure database environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including application developers, architects, and business analysts to optimize database performance, ensure data integrity, and implement security policies. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the resilience and efficiency of our data infrastructure, supporting mission-critical applications and data-driven decision-making processes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with a High School Diploma plus four years of relevant experience or an Associate's Degree with two years of additional relevant experience will also be considered. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration is required, demonstrating a proven track record of managing and maintaining complex database systems successfully. Candidates must hold a DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II certification and have extensive experience working with Linux and/or RedHat environments. Additionally, experience in cloud architecture utilizing platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
Collaborate on and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and robust security measures.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level database administrators, sharing expertise in advanced database technologies, architecture, and design principles.
Lead performance tuning initiatives, optimize database configurations for peak performance, and develop comprehensive disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
Work closely with application developers, architects, and business analysts to design efficient data models, implement advanced database solutions, and develop data migration strategies.
Contribute to the development, enforcement, and continuous improvement of database security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
