Role Description
The Vice President of Technology is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for setting and executing the technology vision for Matrixport-NY. This role oversees architecture, engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure platforms are stable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining IT strategy, prioritizing and managing technology projects, guiding system design and implementation, and coordinating with product, operations, and compliance teams. The Vice President of Technology reviews performance metrics, manages budgets and vendor relationships, and drives continuous improvement in development practices, reliability, and security. This role also mentors technology leaders, supports talent development, and fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, assess technology performance, and support informed decision-making.
Robust Information Technology expertise, including systems architecture, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise IT operations.
Demonstrated experience in IT strategy and strategic planning to align technology roadmaps with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Proven project management capabilities to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage timelines and budgets, and deliver high-impact technology solutions.
Extensive leadership experience overseeing engineering or IT teams, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing, diverse teams.
Background in financial services, fintech, or digital assets is highly beneficial, including familiarity with security, compliance, and risk frameworks.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical groups.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, cloud certifications) are a plus.
