Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)
1. Position Overview
The chief commercial officer is responsible for leading the company's overall business strategy and commercialization system, coordinating core functions such as business development, sales, marketing, customer management, strategic cooperation and revenue growth.
This position usually reports to the CEO and is responsible for transforming corporate strategies into executable business growth plans and driving the company's revenue, market share and long-term business value growth through market expansion, customer acquisition, sales growth, partner development and business model optimization.
2. Main responsibilities
1. Business strategy formulation
Formulate the company's overall business strategy and mid- and long-term business development plans.
Determine the direction of revenue growth and market expansion based on company strategy.
Establish business goals, growth paths and execution mechanisms.
Continuously evaluate business models and market opportunities.
2. Revenue growth management
Responsible for the company's overall revenue growth strategy.
Set annual and long-term revenue goals.
Analyze revenue performance across products, customers, geographies and business lines.
Drive new revenue streams and business growth opportunities.
3. Sales strategy and management
Develop corporate sales strategies, sales models and sales processes.
Manage sales pipeline, key accounts and sales team.
Establish sales forecast, pipeline and performance management system.
Improve sales conversion rates, customer acquisition efficiency, and sales productivity.
4. Market expansion
Identify new markets, industries and customer segments.
Develop domestic and international market entry strategies.
Promote the expansion of new regions, new industries and new business markets.
Analyze market size, competitive landscape and business opportunities.
5. Business development
Lead the company's business development and commercial opportunity development.
Find new customers, partners and strategic opportunities.
Promote business cooperation, joint development and channel cooperation.
Build a pipeline of business opportunities that continues to grow.
6. Strategic cooperation and partnership
Develop strategic partner development strategies.
Responsible for negotiation and relationship management of key business partners.
Promote joint marketing, channel cooperation and business alliances.
Assess the commercial value and long-term potential of collaborative projects.
7. Customer strategy and key account management
Establish an enterprise-level customer development and customer value management system.
Manage key customers and strategic customer relationships.
Drive customer retention, renewals, cross-sells and up-sells.
Translate customer feedback into product and business strategy improvements.
8. Product commercialization
Work with product, R&D and marketing teams to develop product commercialization strategies.
Participate in product pricing, market positioning and go-to-market strategy.
Promote new products from the development stage into the commercial market.
Evaluate market demand and commercial performance of products.
9. Pricing and business model
Develop pricing strategies for products and services.
Analyze customer affordability, market prices and competitor pricing.
Optimize subscription, licensing, project systems and other business models.
Improve income quality and business profit levels.
10. Market and competition analysis
Continuously analyze industry trends and competitor dynamics.
Assess market size, customer needs and business opportunities.
Establish business data and market intelligence systems.
Provide business decision support to CEO and management.
11. Commercial team leadership
Lead sales, business development, commercial operations and related teams.
Establish business talent recruitment, training and performance management systems.
Establish team goals, incentives and performance standards.
Build a customer- and growth-oriented business culture.
12. High-level strategic support
Report business strategy and operating performance to CEO and Board of Directors.
Participate in the company's major investments, market entry and business decisions.
Coordinate marketing, sales, product, financial and operational resources.
Promote the effective connection between corporate strategy and business execution.
3. Job requirements
Bachelor degree or above in business management, marketing, economics, finance, business administration or related majors.
Have extensive experience in business strategy, sales, business development or commercial operations.
Experience in enterprise-level revenue growth and market expansion.
Familiar with one or more of B2B, B2C or enterprise-level business models.
Have sales pipeline, customer management and business forecasting capabilities.
Experience in strategic cooperation, business negotiation and large account management.
Have strong financial awareness and business analysis skills.
Experience in managing cross-departmental and large commercial teams.
MBA or related advanced business management educational background is preferred.
