Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chip Conveyors Service Engineer based in Jamshedpur. The Service Engineer will perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs of chip conveyor systems and related equipment at customer locations. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, conducting troubleshooting and technical support, and ensuring minimal downtime of customer machinery. The role involves preparing service reports, maintaining documentation, coordinating with internal teams for spare parts and upgrades, and providing basic operator training to customer staff. The engineer will also follow safety standards, support continuous improvement of service processes, and build strong, professional relationships with customers.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for mechanical and basic electrical issues in chip conveyors and associated systems.
Candidates should possess proven Field Service experience, including on-site installation, commissioning, and customer support.
Candidates should possess clear Communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders and to prepare service reports.
Candidates should possess solid Technical Support capabilities, including remote guidance, root cause analysis, and solution recommendation.
Candidates should possess hands-on Maintenance & Repair skills for conveyor systems, coolant filtration units, and related industrial equipment.
ITI or Diploma in Mechanical (or equivalent technical qualification).
Experience in industrial automation, metalworking, machine tools, or manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.
Ability to read technical drawings, use standard workshop tools, and follow safety and quality procedures.
Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed and work in shop-floor conditions.
