Role Description The Chip/Scrap Conveyor Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. This role involves visiting customer locations to install, commission, inspect, and service chip and scrap conveyor systems, as well as related coolant and material handling equipment. The Service Engineer will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, replace or repair faulty components, and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. Daily responsibilities include preparing service reports, coordinating with internal teams for spare parts and technical support, and providing basic operation and maintenance guidance to customer personnel. The role also requires timely field response, adherence to safety standards, and proactive communication with customers to maintain strong service relationships.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
Candidates should possess hands-on Field Service and Maintenance & Repair skills for on-site installation, servicing, and upkeep of conveyor systems.
Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills to interact with customers, prepare reports, and coordinate with internal teams.
ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience working with industrial machinery, conveyors, or material handling equipment in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Ability to read technical drawings and manuals, use standard workshop tools, and follow safety procedures and industry standards.
Readiness to travel to customer sites within the region, work in shop floor conditions, and manage service tasks independently.
Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and use of service-related software; familiarity with TPM or preventive maintenance practices is an advantage.
