About This Role
This is a hands-on R-based data and research role. Strong practical experience with R/RStudio is essential.
We are looking for a Healthcare Data Scientist with a strong background in statistical data analysis and practical experience using R/RStudio. You should be comfortable working independently with healthcare, clinical, biomedical or research datasets, from data cleaning and analysis through to statistical modelling and visualisation.
The role is suited to candidates with a background in data science, biostatistics, public health, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics or related fields, particularly those with experience in healthcare, digital health or research.
You will contribute to multiple strategic projects, including data-focused partnerships, research coordination, analysis pipelines and content for funding and academic collaborations. You will work across multiple areas of the business and have the opportunity to learn quickly in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate is an operationally minded problem solver who can take ownership of their work, work confidently with data and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and contributing to statistical analysis pipelines using R/RStudio
Cleaning, analysing and visualising healthcare and research datasets
Applying appropriate statistical methods and interpreting analytical results
Supporting research and clinical teams with data analysis, protocols, publications and reports
Drafting scientific, data and research proposals, including funding and grant applications
Developing and managing data partnerships, including agreements and ethics documentation
Preparing internal and external research decks and presentation content
Supporting strategic and research-focused projects across geographies
Coordinating with researchers, partners and academic collaborators
Communicating analytical findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders
Essential Skills & Experience
2+ years of hands-on experience using R/RStudio
2+ years of experience in statistical data analysis
Strong experience with data cleaning, manipulation and visualisation in R
Practical experience with statistical modelling and interpretation
Ability to independently develop and work with R-based analysis pipelines
Experience working with healthcare, clinical, biomedical or research datasets
Strong scientific and technical writing skills
Experience writing research, funding or grant proposals
Ability to produce well-structured reports and presentations
Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Based in or able to commute to Canary Wharf, London
Desirable Skills
Experience with Python
Experience in clinical research or digital health
Experience with academic publications
Experience working with clinical or academic stakeholders
Experience creating research presentations using Keynote
