Biomedical Data Analyst - R and Statistics

About This Role
This is a hands-on biomedical data and research role. A background in biomedical sciences, biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, public health or a closely related life sciences field is essential. Strong practical experience with R/RStudio is also essential.
We are looking for someone who can combine biological/healthcare knowledge with statistical data analysis. You should have practical experience working with biological, clinical, healthcare or research datasets and be confident using R/RStudio for data cleaning, statistical analysis, modelling and visualisation.
This role is not a general business analytics or commercial data analytics position. We are specifically looking for candidates who understand biological or healthcare research and can apply their data skills in that context.
You will contribute to research and strategic projects across rare diseases, haematological disorders and other areas of healthcare, working with researchers, clinical teams, academic collaborators and data partners.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and contributing to statistical analysis pipelines using R/RStudio
Cleaning, analysing and visualising biological, clinical and healthcare datasets
Applying appropriate statistical methods and interpreting analytical results
Supporting research and clinical teams with data analysis, protocols, publications and reports
Drafting scientific, data and research proposals, including funding and grant applications
Developing and managing data partnerships, including agreements and ethics documentation
Preparing internal and external research decks and presentation content
Supporting strategic and research-focused projects across geographies
Coordinating with researchers, clinical teams, academic collaborators and partners
Communicating analytical and research findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree or postgraduate qualification in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Public Health, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or a closely related field
2+ years of hands-on experience using R/RStudio
2+ years of experience in statistical data analysis
Experience working with biological, clinical, healthcare or research datasets
Strong understanding of statistical analysis and interpretation
Experience with data cleaning, manipulation and visualisation in R
Ability to develop and work independently with R-based analysis pipelines
Strong scientific and technical writing skills
Ability to produce well-structured research reports and presentations
Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Desirable Skills
Experience in clinical research or digital health
Experience with genomics, epidemiology or patient-generated data
Experience with Python
Experience writing grant or funding proposals
Experience contributing to academic publications
Experience working with clinical or academic stakeholders
Experience creating research presentations using Keynote
