The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Rust Engineer to help design, build, and scale mission-critical software systems. You will work closely with a small team of highly skilled engineers, contributing to core infrastructure, performance optimisation, distributed systems design, and operational reliability.
This position is well suited to engineers who enjoy ownership, solving difficult technical challenges, and working in an environment where engineering quality and performance are paramount.
Responsibilities
Design and develop high-performance production systems in Rust.
Build and maintain distributed services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and low latency.
Optimise system performance across compute, networking, and storage layers.
Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to improve system architecture.
Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decision-making.
Improve observability, monitoring, and operational tooling.
Participate in code reviews and drive engineering best practices.
Mentor and support other engineers across the organisation.
Requirements
Strong commercial experience developing software in Rust.
Solid understanding of systems programming fundamentals.
Experience building and operating distributed systems in production environments.
Deep knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, memory management, and performance optimisation.
Familiarity with networking protocols and scalable backend architecture.
Experience working in cloud-native environments and modern deployment workflows.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a bias towards ownership.
Excellent communication skills and experience working within distributed teams.

Blockchain, digital assets, or cryptography-related infrastructure.
High-performance trading, financial technology, or real-time systems.
Event-driven architectures and message-passing systems.
Containerisation and orchestration technologies.
Open-source contributions or personal Rust projects.
