General Assistant

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused General Assistant to operate our newly opened café within the factory area at JCB World Headquarters. Working independently, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing and serving a range of food and beverages, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring the café is fully stocked and ready for service each day.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys engaging with customers and takes pride in creating a welcoming café environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages including barista-style coffees, teas and speciality drinks.
Prepare and serve toasted sandwiches, light snacks, cakes and confectionery items.
Operate the till and handle cashless transactions accurately.
Maintain attractive food and beverage displays throughout the day.
Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements.
Ensure food safety, allergen and health & safety standards are followed at all times.
Complete daily cleaning schedules and maintain a clean café environment.
Open and close the café independently.
Provide a warm, welcoming and professional service to all customers.
Promote products and upsell where appropriate.
Report any maintenance, equipment or operational issues to management.

Previous café, coffee shop or hospitality experience.
Barista experience.
Food Hygiene Certificate.
Experience using tills and handling customer transactions.
