Founding Engineer - DevOps / Infrastructure

Responsibilities:
CI/CD pipelines designed as meaningful gates, including build, test, static analysis, secret and dependency scanning, and migration safety.
Worker infrastructure including container pools, queue-driven autoscaling, graceful draining, idempotent tasks, and cost-per-document optimisation.
Repeatable deployments across customer-controlled cloud environments.
A unified observability layer across deployments including logs, traces, metrics, and actionable alerting.
Backend services and application infrastructure written in Python.
Production reliability, incident response, and on-call practices.
Requirements:
Strong production experience with Python, alongside infrastructure engineering.
4+ years of experience running production infrastructure, including on-call ownership.
Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration in production, including Kubernetes or serverless container platforms.
Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, including state and environment management.
Experience building CI/CD systems from first principles.
Experience with asynchronous job systems and understanding of their failure modes.
Strong PostgreSQL operational experience.
Experience working at a Series A or Series B startup for at least 1 year.
Nice to Have:
Experience working across both GCP and Azure.
Experience optimising infrastructure costs for LLM and AI workloads.
Exposure to SOC 2 or ISO 27001 requirements and evidence collection.
