QC Analyst - KYC Managed Service

Capitex is a specialist financial crime compliance firm. We work only in financial crime - AML, KYC, KYB, sanctions, transaction monitoring and fraud - and we resource managed services and remediation programmes across London, Dubai and New York.
We are recruiting a QC Analyst for a Know Your Assets managed service supporting a global asset manager's alternative investments business. Know Your Assets is the financial crime process used to assess the risk attached to a fund's underlying investments: the holding itself, its ownership and control structure, and the counterparties involved, including sanctions, PEP and adverse media exposure.
The QC Analyst is responsible for the quality of everything the pod produces. You check work in progress, give practical feedback and sign-off, and make sure procedures and record-keeping are applied consistently. You will also provide technical support to the team, design and deliver training, and cover the Deputy Pod Lead for short periods, including technical communications with investment desks and the client's first and second line of defence.
Responsibilities
- Apply the client's quality standards across all work produced by the pod
- Check work in progress, provide practical feedback and give sign-off
- Ensure processes, procedures and record-keeping are applied consistently and correctly
- Identify quality trends, training needs and process improvements, and act on them
- Prepare and deliver ongoing technical training for the team
- Provide day-to-day technical support to analysts at all levels
- Support reporting on QC matters, with insight and commentary rather than raw numbers
- Back up the Pod Lead and Deputy Pod Lead on technical communications with investment desks and client risk functions
- Step up as Deputy Pod Lead for short periods, including sensitive communications with counterparties under review
- Process cases directly where volumes or deadlines require it
Requirements
Essential
- Excellent technical knowledge and substantial experience in complex financial crime due diligence
- Prior quality control or quality assurance experience within a due diligence or AML function
- A forensic eye for detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain a quality failure constructively
- Confident giving feedback and sign-off to peers and to more junior colleagues
Desirable
- Experience in asset management, private equity, real estate, infrastructure or private debt
- Experience designing or delivering training within a financial crime team
- Prior experience on a managed service or large remediation programme
- Familiarity with the Money Laundering Regulations and FCA expectations
