Job Summary : Network Software Engineer (Remote)
Position: Staff Software Engineer, Networking Software
Duration: 6+ months

Key Responsibilities
Architect, design, and evolve scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant networking software for MPP systems.
Evaluate and drive adoption of emerging networking and hardware technologies.
Lead complex debugging and root-cause analysis across hardware, firmware, OS, and networking layers.
Define and execute research initiatives and proof-of-concepts for new technology validation.
Collaborate with product, hardware, and systems engineering teams for platform enhancements.
Establish performance benchmarks, validation methodologies, and success metrics.
Influence platform roadmaps with insights from industry trends and academic research.
Mentor and guide engineers through design/code reviews and architectural discussions.
Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, analysis, and testing.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience in HPC or large-scale distributed systems development.
Expertise in Linux kernel and driver development in C, including production support.
Familiarity with both bare-metal and virtualized environments.
Deep knowledge of InfiniBand, Ethernet networking, RDMA, and RoCE.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, Linux networking, and tuning tools.
Experience with packet-level analysis and Linux kernel debugging (tcpdump, kgdb, crash).
Proven ability to design/optimize high-throughput, low-latency data transport protocols.
Strong knowledge of Linux kernel, DKMS, and driver lifecycle management.
Proficiency in C, Bash, and Python for systems programming and automation.
Experience with MPP systems and message-passing interfaces.
Skilled in using AI-assisted development tools.
Preferred/Bonus Skills
Experience with DPUs, SmartNICs, or hardware offload technologies.
Hands-on experience with kernel-bypass networking (RDMA verbs, DPDK, XDP, eBPF).
Familiarity with high-speed Ethernet (100G/200G/400G/800G) and interconnect fabrics.
Experience tuning for NUMA, CPU affinity, cache locality, and memory bandwidth.
Exposure to distributed storage or database platforms.
Experience collaborating with hardware vendors on integration/performance.
Open-source contributions to networking, kernel, or systems software.
Education & Experience
Bachelor s in Computer Science (distributed systems focus preferred), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
7+ years in high-performance Linux systems or networking software development.
Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
