ELV - Technician

Role Description The ELV Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems such as CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, public address, and structured cabling. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project plans; performing cable routing, termination, and equipment mounting; and conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability. The role also involves troubleshooting system issues, replacing faulty components, and coordinating with project engineers and site supervisors to support timely project delivery. The technician will maintain accurate documentation of work performed, adhere to safety standards and company procedures, and provide basic user guidance where required. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Chennai Area.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong technical skills in ELV systems installation, configuration, and maintenance (e.g., CCTV, access control, fire alarm, public address, structured cabling).
Candidates should possess practical skills in electrical wiring, cable management, use of hand and power tools, and safe work practices on customer and project sites.
Candidates should possess the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications, with basic knowledge of IT networking concepts beneficial.
Candidates should possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including fault diagnosis, component replacement, and system testing to restore functionality efficiently.
Candidates should possess good communication and teamwork abilities, with a service-oriented mindset and willingness to coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and clients.
Relevant ITI/diploma in electrical, electronics, or related discipline is preferred; prior experience as an ELV or low-voltage technician in the IT or building systems industry is an advantage.
