Job Duties:
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh invites applications for a full-time Marketing Project Manager within the Division of University Relations and Strategic Communications. This position manages the planning, coordination, prioritization, and execution of marketing and communications projects and campaigns that support the university’s strategic goals, brand initiatives, and institutional storytelling efforts. Serving as a central operational partner across the division, the Marketing Project Manager coordinates integrated marketing initiatives from concept through completion, managing timelines, deliverables, approvals, resources, and competing priorities across creative, digital, content, social media, web, video, photography, and leadership teams. The position also serves as the primary administrator and champion for project management and workflow systems, such as Asana, helping improve project visibility, communication, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
The Marketing Project Manager brings strategic marketing insight to conversations with campus departments and university stakeholders, helping translate institutional priorities and objectives into effective marketing approaches and coordinated project plans. The position partners with stakeholders to understand marketing objectives, communication goals, and project requirements; facilitates project kickoffs and status meetings; and monitors progress to proactively address risks, bottlenecks, and workflow challenges. The position identifies opportunities to streamline marketing processes, establish consistent project management standards, and improve operational efficiency, while maintaining project documentation, campaign calendars, production schedules, and reporting systems. The position also supports university-wide marketing campaigns, institutional initiatives, special events, launches, and high-profile communications projects. Successful candidates will bring a marketing-focused background and demonstrated experience managing marketing projects, campaigns, or integrated communications initiatives, along with strong project management, collaboration, organizational, and communication skills.
Hybrid remote work may be available after the successful completion of the initial training period. Please note that the remote work policy is subject to change at the discretion of the school or university.
Universities of Wisconsin also offers an extremely competitive benefits package for 2026 that includes:
Health plans, currently starting at $45 per month.
176 hours of vacation per year (prorated for start date).
36 hours of personal holiday, and 9 legal holidays (prorated for start date).
176 Hours of sick leave for first 18 months. After this period, employees can earn up to 96 hours per fiscal year. Accumulates without limit and does not expire.
Paid parental leave after six months of continuous employment.
Wisconsin Retirement System (pension) with 7.2% employer contribution for 2026.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Maintains marketing account relationships, identifies opportunities to promote marketing products and services to best meet account needs and align with unit objectives and strategic initiatives
Provides management and coordination to ensure that marketing campaigns meet deadlines and stay within budgetProvides management and coordination to ensure that marketing campaigns meet deadlines and stay within budget
Serves as a main point of contact and unit liaison for individuals and groups; assesses, responds to, and consults with clients about their marketing requests providing creative recommendations and solutions
Collects, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes data and trends, disseminating information to appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, project management, public relations, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
At least 1 year of professional experience in marketing
Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, timelines, workflows, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong working knowledge of project management systems and workflow platforms, with the ability to effectively manage projects, communication, task assignments, reporting, and operational coordination within Asana being critical to success in this role. Experience with platforms such as Monday.com, Trello, Basecamp, or similar systems is also valued.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities effectively.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build positive working relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively with campus partners, leadership teams, creative staff, and external constituents while maintaining professionalism and responsiveness.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, deadlines, and organizational needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within higher education, nonprofit, agency, or creative services environments.
Familiarity with integrated marketing and communications workflows, campaign planning, creative production processes, and operational coordination.
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies and process improvement frameworks.
Experience supporting cross-functional creative, digital, content, or communications teams.
Demonstrated ability to identify workflow inefficiencies, improve operational processes, and implement scalable project management solutions.
