Sr. VFX compositor

Role Description As a Sr. VFX Compositor at Pompee VFX Animation Studios, you will be responsible for assembling and integrating 2D and 3D elements into final, polished shots that meet the project’s creative and technical standards. You will collaborate closely with supervisors, CG artists, and other compositors to interpret briefs, refine shots, and ensure continuity across sequences. Daily tasks include color balancing, roto and keying, layering passes, applying effects, troubleshooting technical issues, and optimizing workflows for efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, requiring regular presence at the studio to participate in reviews, team discussions, and cross-departmental coordination.
Qualifications
Strong compositing skills using industry-standard software (e.g., Nuke, After Effects, Fusion) and proficiency in integrating live-action, CG, and matte painting elements.
Solid understanding of color theory, lighting, and photographic principles, including experience with grading, matching, and enhancing shots.
Experience with roto, keying, tracking, and cleanup work, ensuring clean extractions and seamless integration of foreground and background elements.
Knowledge of 3D pipelines and render passes (e.g., multi-pass compositing, AOVs), and ability to collaborate effectively with modeling, animation, and lighting teams.
Demonstrated ability to interpret creative direction, provide artistic feedback, and mentor junior compositors when needed.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple shots under tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, team-oriented studio environment.
Several years of professional experience in VFX compositing for film, TV, or high-end advertising; a portfolio or showreel showcasing relevant work is required.
Relevant education in animation, VFX, film, or a related field is beneficial, though equivalent professional experience will be considered.
