Senior BI Architect

2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior BI Architect is responsible for defining and leading the organization''s BI architecture strategy and platform development. This role ensures the design and implementation of scalable semantic models and enterprise BI frameworks that meet performance and governance standards. The position drives technical leadership, mentors BI teams, and collaborates with cross-functional partners to deliver production-grade analytics solutions. It also guides the adoption of AI tools to enhance analytics capabilities and supports compliance and audit readiness.
3. Responsibilities:
Define and lead application and data architecture strategy across the organization
Design scalable semantic models, data marts, and enterprise BI frameworks
Establish standards for data modeling, naming conventions, and reusable datasets
Lead development, testing, deployment pipelines, and lifecycle management
Optimize solutions for performance, scalability, and maintainability
Enforce BI governance practices including data quality, security, and access controls
Define software development best practices, version control, and release management
Review and approve technical solutions for architectural alignment
Lead audit readiness, compliance, and documentation efforts
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to BI developers and analysts
Guide proper use of certified datasets to avoid report redundancy
Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards
Serve as escalation point for complex technical challenges
Design and develop BI solutions including dashboards and paginated reports
Develop advanced DAX, Power Query (M), and T-SQL for analytics
Build and optimize data models for enterprise reporting needs
Develop Power Automate workflows to operationalize BI processes
Collaborate with data engineering on pipelines, data structures, and ingestion
Translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions
Influence upstream data design to improve analytics usability
Utilize Microsoft Copilot, Fabric AI, and approved tools to enhance development
Define responsible AI usage patterns within BI workflows
Stay current with industry trends and recommend adoption as appropriate
4. Requirements:
7+ years of enterprise BI development experience
Proven experience designing BI architecture and scalable data models
Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL Server, and enterprise data platforms
Advanced skills in DAX, Power Query (M), and T-SQL
Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior team members
Strong knowledge of BI governance, security, and deployment best practices
Microsoft Certification in BI Tools (preferred)
Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments (preferred)
Experience implementing enterprise BI governance frameworks (preferred)
Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control for BI (preferred)
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
