2. About the Opportunity:
The Platform Architect (Data & Application Platform) is responsible for shaping and evolving a shared application and data platform that supports product development and data consumption. This role ensures consistent platform architecture across applications, databases, and pipelines, with a focus on unifying diverse data schemas into a shared data model. The position collaborates with engineering, data, and product teams to create scalable, automated platform capabilities that replace complex manual processes and deliver analytics-ready data solutions.
3. Responsibilities:
Define and evolve application and data platform architecture aligning services, databases, integrations, and pipelines
Establish and maintain platform standards to ensure consistency across teams
Analyze and reconcile disparate database schemas; design shared schema definitions
Define canonical data models for consistent data interpretation
Design automated solutions for complex data workflows
Develop scripts and tools for data ingestion, transformation, and validation
Enable turnkey data ingestion pipelines for new data sources
Design scalable data egress patterns for downstream systems and databases
Create data structures and integration patterns optimized for analytics and reporting
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data accessibility and reliability for reporting tools like Power BI
Promote data consistency, quality, and traceability across use cases
Evaluate and influence technology choices across the product ecosystem
Work with Software Engineering, Data Development, DevOps, and Support teams to align with platform standards
Provide architectural guidance during design and implementation
Perform other assigned duties
4. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience with application platforms, data systems, or solution architecture
Strong experience in relational databases and schema design (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Proven ability to integrate data across systems with differing schemas
Proficiency in scripting or tooling to automate data and platform workflows
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges
Ability to document and communicate technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders
Hands-on work capability with a holistic view of platform solutions
Preferred:
Experience with canonical/shared data models across applications
Familiarity with data warehousing and analytics-focused design
Experience with Power BI or similar reporting platforms
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure
Knowledge of modern data pipeline architectures and automation patterns
Familiarity with Revenue Cycle Management concepts (claims, coding, denials, operational data)

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
