ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of English at UNLV is searching for an Assistant Professor of Literary Nonfiction. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position beginning in fall 2027. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising graduate students on thesis manuscripts and translation projects, and serving on departmental committees. Creative Writing at UNLV is a fully-funded graduate program that empowers students with one-on-one mentorship, global engagement through travel and translation, and the skills to navigate the publishing landscape.
The successful candidate’s writing and teaching will demonstrate the literary excellence and activism to which our program is committed, while helping to lead the Literary Nonfiction program of the M.F.A. and Ph.D. with creative dissertation.

BACKGROUND SCREENING

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires an M.F.A., or Ph.D., in Creative Writing or related credentials from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with at least one book in print or in press by a nationally recognized publisher.
ABD candidates will be considered.
Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
