Design Director

Role Description The Design Director will lead the overall design vision and strategy for institutional and program-related initiatives in a part-time, remote capacity. This role involves overseeing design projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with brand, academic goals, and stakeholder expectations. The Design Director will collaborate with academic leaders, marketing teams, and external partners to develop visual identities, guide architectural and spatial planning concepts, and review product and service design proposals. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing design workflows, reviewing construction drawings and design documentation, providing feedback to design teams, and maintaining consistency across branding and communication materials. The role also involves mentoring designers, setting quality standards, and identifying opportunities to enhance the learner and stakeholder experience through thoughtful design.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Design Management and Product Design to lead multidisciplinary projects and deliver coherent design solutions.
Candidates should possess capabilities in Branding to develop and maintain a consistent visual identity across institutional and program materials.
Candidates should possess knowledge of Architecture and Construction Drawings to guide spatial concepts and review technical documentation effectively.
Candidates should have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including academic, marketing, and operational stakeholders.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Candidates should have relevant experience as a design lead or director, ideally in education, institutional, or related sectors.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Design, Architecture, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable working remotely, managing part-time schedules, and using digital collaboration tools.
