Job Description
As a Product Owner at NIQ Brandbank, you will be responsible for a range of customer-facing and internal products that drive our Content creation solutions. You will translate product strategy and business priorities into clear development requirements, leading the delivery and implementation of changes across our customer platforms and internal systems to support operational processes, customer needs and continuous improvement.
This role involves executing the technical development roadmap in line with the product vision, strategy and business priorities. You will use internal stakeholder feedback, user needs and operational insight to improve our platforms, enhance operational effectiveness and deliver value across the business.
As Product Owner, the role is responsible for defining release plans, managing and prioritising the product backlog, and working closely with development teams and stakeholders to support successful delivery, product launches and continuous improvement. This includes creating and managing user stories through Jira, defining clear acceptance criteria, supporting sprint planning and coordinating product and project delivery activities.
Responsible for the end-to-end product development and project delivery process, including release planning, delivery expectations and the successful launch of new functionality
Provide product vision and direction to Agile development teams and stakeholders, translating customer and business needs into clear requirements
Plan, prioritise and maintain the product backlog, assessing business value and ROI to ensure stories, epics and themes align with product strategy and business objectives
Manage backlog refinement and iteration planning, creating well-defined user stories in Jira with clear requirements, dependencies, expected outcomes and acceptance criteria
Define sprint goals and coordinate releases and upgrades in collaboration with Product Management, development, testing and project delivery teams
Work with other Product Managers and Product Owners to align strategy, priorities and dependencies across products, ensuring coordinated delivery
Apply a Voice of Customer, user feedback and product insights to inform the roadmap, development priorities and continuous improvement
Work closely with development and testing teams to review completed functionality, manage defects and ensure agreed acceptance criteria have been met
Coordinate with Business Analysts, Product Managers and development teams to track delivery progress, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies, escalating where these may affect sprint, release or project outcomes
Identify and help resolve impediments affecting delivery, ensuring work remains aligned with agreed business priorities and release or sprint goals
Apply and continually improve Agile and Scrum practices, supporting the team through a collaborative leadership style and creating an environment where issues can be raised and resolved constructively
Provide clear and regular reporting to the business and senior leaders, communicating transparently with internal and external stakeholders and supporting effective discussion, decision-making and conflict resolution
Qualifications
1 to 2 years’ relevant experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Project Management, Business Analysis, software development or product testing within a technology environment
Working knowledge of Agile principles and the product development lifecycle
Strong product, project and delivery acumen
Ability to understand customer and business needs and translate them into clear requirements
Comfortable working with development teams and engaging in technical discussions
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and maintain attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation
Analytical and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
Collaborative working style with the confidence to take ownership and make decisions
Understanding of consumer content, online retail or FMCG is desirable
Experience of using Atlassian product suite is desirable
You may be asked to undertake additional duties to those above, either on a temporary or permanent basis, which the Company reasonably believes you are capable of carrying out, or for which you will be trained.
Relevant professional, ethical and health and safety standards apply to this role
