Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer role based in the on site Chennai/ Banglore . The Mechanical Design Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and systems that integrate with Applix’s manufacturing solutions, from concept through detailed design and validation. Daily responsibilities include creating and reviewing 3D models and engineering drawings, performing design calculations, selecting materials and components, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as production, software, and quality. The role involves prototyping, supporting testing and failure analysis, and implementing design improvements based on performance, cost, and manufacturability considerations. The engineer will also maintain design documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety requirements.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, including mechanics, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in Design Engineering and Machine Design, with experience in developing robust mechanical systems.
Experience in Product Design, focusing on usability, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
Hands-on expertise with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., Creo/ NX similar) for 3D modeling and detailed drafting.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and industry standards, and apply GD&T where required.
Experience with prototype development, testing, and iterative design improvements based on data and feedback.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering 2-5 years of experience or a closely related discipline.
Experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments is an advantage.
