Java Backend Developer

Position Summary: Build and support Java backend services for Fundmaster Modernization. The candidate will implement business functionality, develop APIs and database components, create automated tests, participate in code reviews, and support releases and production issue investigation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot services.
Implement business rules from functional and technical specifications.
Develop and consume REST APIs and integrate with enterprise services.
Create database-access components and reliable data-processing logic.
Write clean, maintainable code and unit and integration tests.
Investigate defects, support root-cause analysis, and resolve development and production issues.
Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, build pipelines, deployments, and production support.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, QA, operations, and support teams.
Required Technical Skills
Core Java, preferably Java 8 or later.
Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
JUnit, Mockito or equivalent testing frameworks.
Git/GitHub and basic CI/CD practices.
Debugging, analytical problem-solving, and secure coding fundamentals.
Basic Linux/Unix and application-server knowledge
Strong SQL and Data Capabilities Strong SQL capability is mandatory, including joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations, DML, transaction fundamentals, indexes, data validation, and query troubleshooting
The candidate must be comfortable writing and reviewing production-quality SQL and analyzing data issues independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial services, investment operations, accounting, reconciliation, or asset servicing.
Experience modernizing legacy or mission-critical enterprise applications.
Exposure to AS400/IBM i and DB2.
Azure or AWS experience; Docker and Kubernetes exposure
