Are you an experienced LVT looking for a busy general practice where you can put your technical skills to work and become a trusted part of the team? Carnegie Hill Veterinarians is looking for a confident, experienced LVT to join our team in New York City. With a busy medical and surgical caseload, we’re looking for someone with strong GP experience who is comfortable jumping into the day, supporting our doctors, and providing excellent nursing care from appointments through surgical recovery. What You’ll Do
As an LVT at Carnegie Hill Veterinarians, you’ll play an active role in supporting our doctors and caring for patients throughout their visit.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting doctors during appointments and examinations
Performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Administering medications and treatments
Providing skilled nursing care and monitoring hospitalized patients
Preparing patients and equipment for surgical procedures
Monitoring anesthesia from induction through recovery
Assisting with surgical procedures and patient recovery
Performing laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging
Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
Educating and communicating with pet parents
Working closely with doctors and teammates to keep patient care moving efficiently throughout the day
Experience with dentistry is a plus, but it is not required.
What We’re Looking For
Current New York State Veterinary Technician license
Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology
Strong general practice experience
Confidence with appointments, treatments, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement
Strong surgical and anesthesia monitoring skills
Sound patient nursing and clinical judgment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A dependable, proactive approach to supporting patients and teammates
Someone comfortable working in a busy environment who can confidently jump in and contribute
A commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care
Benefits & Compensation
Compensation: $27–$35/hour, based on experience and skill set
Schedule: We are primarily looking for a full-time LVT who can provide weekday coverage. The exact schedule can be discussed during the interview process based on the needs of the hospital and candidate availability.
