We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Junior Monitoring Surveyor to support our monitoring and surveying activities. In this role, you’ll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a wider project team. A background in topographical, engineering or monitoring surveying is essential to thrive in this position.
Working under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Surveyor, you will support the delivery of accurate and reliable survey information while ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environment and quality are maintained.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
• Precise movement monitoring surveys
• As-built surveys and setting out for construction
• Topographical and building surveys
• Precise levelling surveys
• Railway track surveys
• Preparation of survey plans using AutoCAD or similar software
• Preparation of MS Word-based template reports
• Preparation of MS Excel-based template reports
• Supporting the safe and high-quality delivery of surveying and monitoring activities
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with relevant health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
To be a successful Junior Monitoring Surveyor, you should be able to demonstrate:
• Demonstrable experience in surveying and/or monitoring surveying
• Experience working within a construction environment
• Experience using Leica 1200 series total stations or equivalent
• Experience using Leica DNA03 precise levels or equivalent
• Experience using Leica 1200 series GPS receivers or equivalent
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• The ability to prepare surveys using AutoCAD or similar software
• The ability to work accurately and meet project deadlines
• The ability to work effectively and responsibly in a high-pressure environment
• The ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing requirements
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A proactive approach, with the ability to learn quickly and use initiative
• Clear and effective communication skills
• A full driving licence
• CSCS qualification
Desirable experience and qualifications:
• Qualification in Surveying and/or Civil Engineering
• PTS certification
• Sentinel ICI-LU Card
• Experience using Leica TS06, TS15 and/or TS30 total stations
• Knowledge of geotechnical and structural instrumentation
• Experience using MicroSurvey StarNet
• Experience using N4CE Survey Software
• Experience working in tunnelling environments
