Role Description The Scrum Master role at Esse India is a full-time, on-site position based in Madurai. This role is responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for software development and internal process-improvement teams. The Scrum Master will coach team members on Agile principles, remove impediments, and ensure that user stories are clearly defined and prioritized in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders. The role also involves tracking team performance metrics, promoting continuous improvement, and supporting clear communication across technical and non-technical team members. In addition, the Scrum Master will work closely with leadership to align delivery timelines with business goals and maintain a collaborative, respectful team environment.
Qualifications
Strong Agile facilitation abilities, including experience with sprint planning and managing Scrum ceremonies.
Ability to work with user stories, refine backlogs, and collaborate with product owners to define clear requirements.
Solid analytical skills to interpret data, identify impediments, and propose practical solutions for continuous improvement.
Effective communication skills for engaging with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
Understanding of software development processes and experience partnering with development teams.
Experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a technology or services environment.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) are preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to work on-site in Madurai and collaborate in a diverse, inclusive team setting.
Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or similar platforms) is an advantage.
