Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Program Manager

We are seeking an experienced OHS Program Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety programs supporting innovative research, laboratory, and technology operations for a high-technology customer. This role is ideal for a collaborative, solutions-oriented safety professional who can balance compliance, risk management, and business objectives in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will partner closely with researchers, engineers, facilities teams, and business stakeholders to ensure hazards are identified, risks are effectively managed, and practical safety solutions are implemented.
This is a hybrid role; minimum three (3) days per week on customer site.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development, implementation, and management of occupational health and safety programs supporting research, laboratory, and technology operations.
Provide expert guidance on hazard identification, risk assessments, industrial hygiene, regulatory compliance, and safety best practices.
Conduct and support incident investigations, audits, inspections, exposure assessments, and corrective action activities.
Develop and maintain risk management processes, including risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses, Management of Change reviews, and safe work procedures.
Review facility, equipment, and operational changes to ensure appropriate safeguards and risk controls are identified and implemented.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop practical solutions that enable safe and efficient operations.
Develop and deliver safety training, communications, and awareness initiatives that strengthen safety culture and workforce engagement.
Analyze safety performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Support laboratory safety programs including chemical safety, hazardous materials management, hazardous waste, compressed gases, cryogens, and emerging technologies.
Collaborate with global teams to promote consistency, share best practices, and support implementation of corporate OHS programs and standards.
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4 years of Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or Industrial Hygiene experience.
Demonstrated expertise in occupational health and safety programs, hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance.
Strong knowledge of chemical safety, hazardous materials management, and laboratory or industrial operations.
Ability and willingness to operate within an established corporate OHS strategy while contributing innovative solutions and continuous improvement opportunities.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with international and remote team members across multiple locations and time zones.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience working in a multinational organization is preferred.
Professional certifications such as CSP or CIH are preferred.
Experience supporting research, laboratory, manufacturing, semi-conductor, or high-technology environments is highly desirable.

The salary range for this position is $101,000 - $120,000 (dependent on experience).
