About the Opportunity:
The SOFTWARE ENGINEER, DATA PLATFORM will develop and maintain the core data infrastructure that supports various teams across the organization. This role is critical for enabling reliable and scalable data access, governance, and analytics, facilitating better decision-making and operational efficiency. The engineer will build foundational data services and tools that improve data usability and security while partnering closely with data practitioners.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain data platform capabilities including warehousing, orchestration, business intelligence, and governance.
Develop and operate Python services and tools for data product creation and management.
Implement scalable infrastructure as code using Terraform.
Establish patterns for managing large-scale data with strong governance, security, and usability.
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, scientists, and product teams to translate needs into platform features.
Evaluate and develop agentic workflows to improve data work while ensuring control and observability.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering colleagues.
Requirements:
Extensive software engineering experience with strong Python skills.
Proven experience designing, shipping, and operating production systems.
Practical experience building or managing large-scale data platforms or infrastructure.
Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly Terraform.
Understanding of tradeoffs in managing petabyte-scale data regarding performance, cost, and governance.
Ability to collaborate with data practitioners and understand their workflows.
Strong communication skills and technical judgment.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Zone A: 180000—270000 USD
Zone B: 171000—256600 USD
Zone C: 162000—243000 USD
Zone D: 153000—229600 USD
